Our Inspirations

Who inspires our tricks and style?

There are some truly amazing magicians out there, and we love watching different performances by different people to get ideas of style, routines and tricks. Every magician brings a new take and an individual flair to a trick which we love to see! Having been doing magic for since 2017 we have come across many different performers, from the big international names such as Penn & Teller, Eric Chien, Shin Lim and Jay Sankey to friends who we never knew had a trick up their sleeve, and this range of influences and experiences has helped us to develop our own style to mould us into the magicians we are today! We love watching films about magic, and even went to London to see The Magic Hour in 2018 and The Illusionists in 2019 to gain insight into a different performance method.

For us, our biggest inspirations are the tricks that fool us – we love sitting and watching a trick over and over to try to figure out how it is done. Penn & Teller’s Fool Us tv program is brilliant for this, as well as YouTube. Joshua Jay and Chris Ramsay are masters at fooling us and we just love watching them perform their magic! We also love the tricks that offer something completely unexpected and out of the box – it's magic like this that keeps us on our toes and makes us get really creative with our tricks and imagine the possibilities.

Check out the links below to some of the tricks which really WOW us every time we watch:

Shin Lim on America's Got Talent not only blew the judges away, he went on to win the 2018 series!

Johnny Ace's performance of the cup and balls trick has a twist that entertains us every time!

It's hard for us to believe that Eric Chien isn't genuinely magic
